Job Summary

STF is looking for an experienced candidate to support the NIWC-LANT Aegis Test Team (ATT) OSR Leader in support of US Navy Ship new construction, testing management, EXCOMM life cycle engineering and technical services on DDG SCN ships in Bath, ME. and other locations as directed:  Support Locations; Norfolk VA., Charleston SC, Mayport FL. San Diego CA. Pearl Harbor HI. Pascagoula MS.

Responsibilities and Duties

Supports the review of proposed, new, and existing EXCOMM systems test procedures. Identifies, documents, communicates, and status test procedure discrepancies through identification to adjudication. Ensures compliance with program testing policy, guidelines, and norms. Supports the management, oversight, and performance of EXCOMM testing. Performs EXCOMM tests as required by the NIWC LANT EXCOMM/OSR Lead. Performs and supports new construction ship builder, systems, and acceptance trials testing. Supports EXCOMM test meetings, reviews, and scheduling. Takes part in, support and receive Government and Contractor sponsored testing familiarization as required/identified. Provides oversight and assistance of EXCOMM systems calibration and certification of below deck and above deck equipment. Capable of working aloft and transport of heavy (two-man lift) test equipment. Provides oversight and assistance of warrantied EXCOMM repair parts from ships under test. Specific support includes hands on installation and removal. Supports Systems Operational Verification Test (SOVT) management and completion. Troubleshoots and repairs government responsible EXCOMM Systems. Perform alignments on shipboard communications equipment as required. Witness delivery of Radio Communications Systems. Obtains and maintains courier card and support the transportation of classified materials to/from work site/ship. 

Reviews, identifies, documents, and submits changes to system technical manuals, technical documentation, ECP’s, drawings, schematics and government furnished information (GFI) utilized in the installation of EXCOMM systems. Supports the management of and oversight of COMSEC policy and guidance to include, physical security, TEMPEST, tracks keymat requirements and supports BIW KOAM.

Supports EXCOMM systems life cycle engineering/technical meetings, reviews, and scheduling. Take part in and receive Government and Contractor sponsored EXCOMM systems familiarization as required/identified. COMSEC Material Handling Duties. Performs initial light off testing of EXCOMM MIDS terminal and COMSEC equipment. 

Performs other duties as directed by NIWC LANT ATT Bath OSR or Senior Project Management in his or her absence as required in support of EXCOMM construction and testing on DDG SCN ships at Bath.   Participate in Radio Communications Systems Issues, Ships Test Configuration Review Board, AEGIS Light-off and PMW 760 Staff meetings as well as other meetings determined by NIWC LANT ATT Bath OSR.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Required knowledge and years of experience

10+ years of experience with U.S. Navy communications systems and associated equipment is highly desired. AN/SRC-61(V)5 Digital Modular Radio, TVS other Navy communications patching technologies, NMT, CBSP, CDLMS, MOS, HFDAG/HFDMR, NAVMACS, COMSEC equipment, OE-570A antenna systems, and other related U.S. Navy antenna and communications equipment.

Education Requirements

A 4-year degree in Science Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, preferred but not required.
