Job Summary
Procurement Specialist to support procurement of goods and services for direct Government contracts as well as internal activities
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities include analyzing and pricing Bills of Materials (BOMs); developing and issuing RFQs/RFPs; evaluating quotes; conducting price analysis; negotiating pricing and terms; and issuing purchase orders in accordance with the FAR and STF policies and procedures.
The role administers purchase orders, including serving as the primary point of contact for consultant POs and related correspondence. Maintains complete and compliant procurement files, including sole source justifications, price analysis documentation, negotiation summaries, and other required records. Participates in internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities also include supplier validation, vendor record maintenance, negotiation of payment terms, invoice processing, and coordination with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payment.
The position manages designated telecommunications equipment and selected utility accounts, and supports government property tracking and record maintenance in accordance with contractual requirements. The individual must work effectively with program managers, operations, finance, consultants, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement support and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
Experience: 3 years of related experience is desired. Preferably familiar with procurement practices, price analysis, basic understanding of US Government policies and regulations, and possess knowledge of related business principles. Knowledge: The individual must have good mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills. Requires good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to operate independently and communicate effectively, both internally with technical staff, peers, and management, as well as externally with suppliers. Proficient in utilizing Word and Excel. Experience with Deltek Costpoint is desired.
